    October 26, 2019, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Carbondale Police Department

On Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Carbondale Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 18th opportunity in 8 years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to the police department at 501 South Washington Street in Carbondale, Illinois. Also accepted are Evape cigarettes and pens, however the batteries must be removed prior to disposal. (The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles, sharps or batteries, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. The Carbondale Police Department is also partnering with Kroger’s (501 North Giant City Road) and Wal-Mart (1450 East Main) as additional sites where unwanted medications can be disposed. Kroger’s and Wal-Mart’s take back sites will also be open on Saturday October 26th, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
