GENERAL: Call for Collection - these programs
require that the resident prepare the Special Waste as
specified below, affix the appropriate number of Special
Waste Stickers and call 618-457-3275 to schedule a
collection.
Special Waste Stickers are available at Schnucks,
Kroger, Murdale True Value, and City Hall.
Set Out: Set items at curbside by 7:00 a.m. but no sooner
than 6:00 p.m. the evening before scheduled collection.
Landscape Waste ("bag & bundle program") includes
grass clippings, leaves, weeds, shrub & hedge
trimmings, and tree limbs up to 12 inches in diameter.
Place grass clippings, leaves and hedge trimmings, etc.,
into a CLEAR plastic bag (maximum 35 gallon bag;
weight not to exceed 25 ounds).
Tie bag securely closed and affix 1 sticker per bag.

Cut and budle sticks, branches, and limbs (maximum 5
foot length and 25 pounds) and tiw securely at both ends
with heavy twine; affix 1 sticker per bundle. Dispose of
limbs 12 inches in diameter and larger as trash.
White Goods: includes large home appliances such as
refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners, cook stoves,
water heaters, microwaves, washers, dryers, etc. 10
stickers per item or 20 stickers peritem for items with
refrigerant.
Tires: include automobile, small truck, and motocycle
tires. 4 stickers each for tires that are off the rim;
6 stickers each for tires that are still on a rim.

Carbondale's Special Loose Leaf Collection Program is offered during the months of November, December and January. Participating Residents should first rake their leaves curbside or street-side and then call the Environmental Services Office for scheduling. Please do no block sidewalks or rake into ditches or gutters.
