Where else can you get a document notarized free except as a service of the Carbondale City Clerk's Office? Simply bring your document to the City Clerk's Office during regular business hours. Do not sign the document before you come to the office! Please bring at least one form of identification with you (a photo ID is preferred).

The City Clerk's Office is unable to notarize any documents on which the notary certification can be detached from the document being notarized. In addition, documents printed in a foreign language will not be notarized unless the document also includes an English translation.

The City Clerk's Office is located at 200 S. Illinois Avenue, Carbondale IL 62901 (mailing address P.O. Box 2047, Carbondale IL 62902-2047). Regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
