The City of Carbondale, Illinois, does hereby invite sealed bids for FY2013 Street Cut Repair Program.  The nature of the work to be done under this contact consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove and replace existing pavements on streets, sidewalks, driveways, and the like in the City of Carbondale.  All work shall be in accordance with the contract documents, plans, specifications, and as directed by the Engineer or his representative.

Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 by mail or delivered by hand to the Finance Department Purchasing Office, City of Carbondale, 200 South Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois, immediately after which time and at such place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, in the Finance Department Library, City Hall, 200 south Illinois Avenue, so that any question may be answered at that time.

Proposals shall be submitted on forms furnished by the City and shall be marked Bid No. 12-13.

Plans and specifications may be obtained upon application at the Finance Department Purchasing Office, City of Carbondale, 200 South Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois, upon the payment of $50.00 per set.  The payment shall be made payable to the City of Carbondale, and is non-refundable.  

Bid security in the form of a certified bank check or bank draft payable to the City of Carbondale, or a satisfactory bid bond, in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, as specified in Section 2-7 of the General Conditions, and the completed EEO Documents, as specified in Section 1 of the General Conditions, shall be submitted with each bid.  No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the City of Carbondale.

The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the provisions of this Invitation for Bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality or technicality in any proposal in the interest of the City.
