As the largest auditorium in Southern Illinois, seating 1,214, the main floor and horseshoe-shaped balcony create an intimate space between the artists and the audience. Shryock Auditorium is equipped to handle almost any type of event -- international touring productions, acoustic or sound reinforced music groups, meetings, and large conferences.
Shryock Auditorium is often home to Southern Lights Entertainment events which feature national and international touring performers and events. The Auditorium is also used by other campus organizations such as the School of Music and the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra.

December 4, 2012 - 7:30 p.m. - "Buon Natale! - The Holidays from Italy"
Celebrate the season with the SIUC Choral Union, Concert Choir, and Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra as they present "Buon Natale! - The Holidays from Italy." Featuring Gabrieli's Hodie Christus Natus Est, the Kyrie and Gloria from Puccini's Messa di Gloria, and a selection of Italian holiday favorites, this concert is certain to get you into the holiday spirit.
December 6, 2012 - 7:30 p.m. - SIU Wind Esemble
It’s the week before finals, come out to hear some great band music and take your mind off all that studying you have to do! This concert will feature Sousa, Bach, Grainger, Dello Joio, Chance, and Robert Russell Bennett’s Symphonic Songs. Guaranteed to leave you whistling a tune. It’s a great evening for band music!
December 9, 2012 - 7:30 - Dailey & Vincent
The reigning 3-time International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year, will perform.
December 15, 2012 @ 7:30 p.m. and December 16, 2012 @ 3:00 p.m. - The Nutcracker Ballet
Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic returns to the Shryock Auditorium stage, as the Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra accompanies the Southern Illinois Music Festival Dance Company and several professional principal dancers from major ballet companies. Both performances of this production two years ago were sold out, so order your tickets early!
